Partnered Organization's Resources

Support Local BC is partnered with several organizations that each have their own unique mission and values. However, each organization has the common goal to uphold British Columbian economic resiliency and strengthen the spirit of entrepreneurs within the local small business community. Below are some of Support Local BC’s partners and links to some of their resources we believe can open up more opportunities and further develop essential skills for businesses and business owners.

British Columbia Economic Development Association (BCEDA)

The British Columbia Economic Development Association (BCEDA) is the leading professional association of economic development practitioners in British Columbia. The BCEDA provides services that help members of communities grow and expand new and existing businesses, attract new business investments, and work towards strategic infrastructure investment, land use planning, and community enhancement.
BCEDA services include an annual summit and networking event, educational and professional development opportunities, public relations, advisory services and resources and partnering with communities and the Province of BC to market British Columbia for business investment.
The BCEDA is not your typical membership based organization and does so much more to enhance and support all levels of government.  Whether you are a local government, provincial, federal, First Nations or Regional District we work with you to make sure the needs of your organization and others are met.

LOCO BC

LOCO BC’s goal is to build stronger communities through research of policies and practices on fair and just economies and contribute to a world where resilient communities are based on shared economic prosperity.

They produce research that demonstrates the beneficial practices and impacts of independent businesses, engage with businesses to measure and promote their impacts, and educate consumers and purchasers whenever possible. They also research the challenges faced by independent businesses, advocate for reducing these barriers, and work to build bridges between businesses and policymakers.

Northern Development Initiative Trust

Northern Development is an independent, non-profit corporation; a catalyst for stimulating economic growth through investments in grassroots, community-led projects. Northern Development believe that communities, First Nations and businesses of the north are leaders in creating jobs, new revenues, and improving the quality of life in the northern region. Northern Development's ever increasing partnerships are a testament to the strength of leadership in this northern decade of prosperity.

In addition to flowing funding into communities, Northern Development makes a difference through working with municipalities, regional districts and First Nations to build economic development staff and program capacity through various funding and training programs.
